These Terms & Conditions apply to all services provided by The Harpenden Home Organiser. By booking a consultation or session, you agree to these terms.
1. Consultations
An initial consultation is free of charge and offered with no obligation to book.
Consultations may take place either in person or via video call and provide an opportunity to discuss your goals, the areas you'd like support with, and the most suitable approach for your home.
2. Services
The Harpenden Home Organiser provides decluttering and organising support tailored to each client's needs.
Services may include, but are not limited to:
Decluttering and organising
Home organisation systems
Wardrobe organisation
Kitchens and pantries
Home offices and paperwork
Utility rooms and bathrooms
Playrooms and toy organisation
Garages, lofts and storage areas
Downsizing and moving preparation
Organising support following significant life changes
3. Bookings
Decluttering sessions are charged at £35 per hour, with a minimum booking of 3 hours.
Organising-only sessions and maintenance sessions are quoted individually depending on your requirements.
Session lengths will be agreed before your appointment.
4. Payment
Payment is due at the end of each session unless agreed otherwise in advance.
Payment can be made by bank transfer or other agreed payment method.
Any additional agreed costs, such as storage products purchased on your behalf, will be payable by the client.
5. Client Responsibilities
For decluttering sessions, clients must be present to make decisions about their belongings.
All decisions about what to keep, donate or let go of remain entirely the client's responsibility.
Once decluttering decisions have been completed, organising work may be carried out independently if agreed in advance.
6. Donations and Disposal
With prior agreement, I can take up to five bags of donated items to a local charity shop following your session.
I am unable to remove general household waste, recycling or hazardous materials.
7. Storage Products
Where appropriate, I may recommend storage solutions after the decluttering process has been completed.
You are under no obligation to purchase any recommended products.
If you ask me to purchase storage items on your behalf, the cost of those items will be charged to you.
8. Cancellations and Rescheduling
If you need to cancel or rearrange your appointment, please provide as much notice as possible.
Cancellations made with at least 48 hours' notice will not incur a charge.
Cancellations made with less than 48 hours' notice may be charged at my discretion, unless due to exceptional circumstances.
If I need to rearrange a session due to illness or unforeseen circumstances, I will contact you as soon as possible to arrange an alternative appointment.
9. Confidentiality
Your privacy is important to me.
All information shared during consultations and sessions will be treated confidentially and handled in accordance with my Privacy Policy.
10. Photography
Before and after photographs may occasionally be requested for portfolio or marketing purposes.
Photographs will only be taken and used with your explicit written permission.
Personal items, photographs and identifying information will never be shared without your consent.
11. Insurance
The Harpenden Home Organiser holds appropriate business insurance, including Public Liability Insurance and Professional Indemnity Insurance.
12. Limitation of Liability
Reasonable care will be taken when handling your belongings.
The Harpenden Home Organiser cannot accept responsibility for:
pre-existing damage to items
damage caused by faulty furniture or storage products
decisions made by clients regarding items they choose to keep, donate or dispose of
loss resulting from inaccurate information provided by the client
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so.
13. Changes to these Terms
These Terms & Conditions may be updated from time to time. The latest version will always be available on request or via the website.
14. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
